Our high school economics teacher loved to talk about how there was no such thing as a free lunch. But you know, now that we think of it, he never mentioned discounts, which perhaps explains why we've been up to what we've been up to. In particular, we've been working on new ways to give you free (*ahem* we mean "free", Mr. Veasey) stuff at your favorite shops.This version of the thanx app has two juicy goodies in it. First, we're launching our new "Special Offers" product which gives you rewards at places you shop, rewards that you don't have to earn the way you do our normal rewards. Instead, these show up for any merchant in your cards whenever they're available. As of today, Paxti's is offering our first Special Offer to you: get $5 off any large pizza at lunch. Just use any registered card and order a pizza. Just be sure to add Patxi's to your list of cards before you dine (click "all merchants" and add from there). Easy peasy!The other thing is that we've optimized how the app fetches data from our servers. It should feel a LOT faster and alleviate a few glitches some of you might have found.So hurry up! Update your app and go get some pizza for lunch! It's not free (*ahem*, "free"), but it's $5 cheaper than those poor saps who haven't installed Thanx! (Seriously, tell the people at the table next to you to install it).
